The Blue Berry Field is an ephemeral sculpture that waymarks a larger improvised trail called Harvest Walk, retracing second growth hardwood and conifer forestlands, centuries old stone walls, overgrown blueberry barrens, and fallow hay fields in Farmington, Maine. As the transition along a walk through time and space, this piece becomes meeting place for people and the gathering of edible plants. Though devoid of fasteners, the center portal of the sculpture is supported by counterweights in either side chamber woven from birch limbs which hold large balancing stones.
