Based on the kare sansui (dry gardens of Japan) and thatch construction. With the help of local farmers and university students, rice straw was cut from surrounding terraces and bundled to create this installation evoking the volcanic and mountainous terrain of Japan. Sited in front of an abandoned Minka, the piece is a part of a creative cultural revival in Kamiyama. Artist's Open Atelier.
