Abacus of Urban Time

The physical city can be a woven, mobile fabric adapting to shifting coastlines, and flooding, while ecological language flows through vernacular portals that open and close on different levels, physically, linguistically, culturally, philosophically like a forming cloud and its shadow through the horizontal and vertical grid space. The city walks the land. The land walks the city. Block massing and urban densities slide along fault lines weaving emerging topographical patterns. Strands of the city can unzip, and splice together like DNA. This basic diagram shows how a megacity might reform itself into a more serviceable collection of community centers reforming in endless permutations.

With algorithmic politics, we become nomads who retain statehood, while shepherding philosophy through space, form, and time.
